Final Output

We are going to create the design which is shown in above. The concept is creating a striking poster design. In recent I was creating a poster for one of my client. By the time I was using Illustrator and photoshop clipping mask to create the artistic effect.

But, in this tutorial I’m using photoshop brush instead of Illustrator brush.

Step 1

Create the new document as you like it. I’m creating 1024 x 768 in RGB Color mode.

Step 2

Once you created the document, Press B for brushes and select the Brush as shown in the above. That is Chalk 60 pixel brush.

Step 3

Now Press F5 for brush presets options. Check the Dual Brush Option and select the brush shown in the image above. That brush name is Dry Brush Tip Light Flow.

Step 4

Press ] key to increase the brush stroke size. Press continuously till the size will be 150 pixels. Now Draw the strokes as you like it by using the brush. I was drawing the strokes as shown in above.

Step 5

Once you download the photo, drag into the current document in photoshop.

Step 6

Place the photo in above the brush stroke layer as shown in the step 7.
Re size the photo for your document.

There are 3 methods to create the Clipping Mask.

Go to > Layer > Create Clipping Mask Or
Right click the photo layer and create clipping mask. Or
Alt + Ctrl + G will do the clipping mask.

The magic will happen.

Step 7

Move the image to adjust the position.

Type the quote or text you like it in the right hand side of the design.
Now we are creating the stunning artistic poster by using Clipping Mask.

You can use the Illustrator Brush Strokes instead of Photoshop. That will give more life to your design.
